Chocolate Banana Halwa

If you are bored of eating regular #soojihalwa.. then make it interesting by adding #bananas and #cocoapowder 😆 This is super easy to make, takes hardly 10 minutes and tastes yum. I was too lazy to plate it, so pictures directly from the pan 🤪 Sharing the written recipe below. Try it out especially for your little ones if they love chocolate flavour. Please do read the notes below before trying.

For babies under 1, you can completely skip sugar and offer.

Ingredients:

1/2 cup sooji
1 cup hot water
2 tbsp sugar
1 cup mashed banana
2 tbsp ghee
2 tbsp cocoa powder

Method:

Take ghee in a pan, add sooji and roast. Don’t let sooji turn brown. Now add cocoa powder and banana. Mix well. Add hot water, mix well again so no lumps are formed. Lastly add sugar, mix, cover, and cook for a minute or two. Done. Garnish with dry fruits or dry fruits powder. Serve warm.

NOTES:

*  You can use half cup banana too, I have tried using this quantity as well.

* Increase the sugar quantity if you want it to be sweet. 2 tbsp doesn’t make it sweet enough like halwa.

* Skip cocoa powder and add just banana for banana halwa. Skip banana, add just cocoa powder and increase the sugar quantity to make chocolate halwa. Skip both cocoa powder and banana, add elaichi powder to make simple sooji halwa.

* You can also completely skip the sugar (for babies less than one-year-old) and just add banana to this. See one recipe and so many variations 🤪

You can also serve it with poori or paratha.
